Standout beaches, heaps of history and vibrant seafront resorts make the Split Area the treasure of the Dalmatian Coast. Holidays here offer a rich slice of Croatian heritage. Its namesake city is built around a Roman palace and the region’s flagship attraction, with clusters of terracotta-topped streets leading out to the sea, stunning underground markets and film-set-worthy architecture.

Right in the heart of the historic Diocletian's palace complex stands the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, once the site of Emperor Diocletian's mausoleum. Marjan is Split’s biggest natural recreational zone. Locals have always had a special relationship with Marjan, dotting it with churches, meandering around its forest paths and swimming at its various beaches. Split is an important hub for Croatia’s rich gastronomy scene. One of most bohemian bars in Split's centre is Academia Ghetto Club and worth a visit. Located in a converted hospital, Split's Museum of Fine Arts. A place where kids and whole family can have a great fun is Znjan, the newest built beach in Split and so far largest location for enjoy in sea and sun. During hot days in Split it’s a good idea to take your kids for a day excursion to Biokovo Nature Park. One of the favorite kids activities will be to discover the beautiful Adriatic sea underwater world.
