Sicily’s ancient cuisine continues to rely on a few key island-grown ingredients: shellfish and citrus, tuna and swordfish, pistachios, almonds and ricotta. Among the desserts stand out the Cannolo and Cassata, which enhance the freshness and authenticity of local ricotta. No less is the Granita, which here rejects the ice to be creamy: the Sicilian one is prepared in  thousand flavours and is delicious to the point of “challenging” the best homemade ice cream.

Sicily is the cradle of the Mediterranean diet, which has always been the healthiest and most varied style of food, and also enhances fish and vegetables through Caponata and Parmigiana but also under the endless typicality, “Captained” by the tomato of Pachino.

Here, the climate is much Mediterranean, with hot summers and short mild winters. There are 2,500 hours of sunshine , the rainfalls, seldom heavy, are concentrated in the winter months. The average maximum temperature is 26°C (July-August), The average minimum is 10°-14°C (December to February). The water temperature goes from around 16°C in winter to 27°C in summer.
